Konveyor BOF: Community Tools to Accelerate the Journey to Kubernetes - Sponsored by Red Hat (RSVP Required)
At organizations everywhere, system administrators and developers are faced with requests to digitally transform their frameworks so enterprises can benefit from IT modernization with Kubernetes. But taking that containerized leap requires a fundamental change in configuration and architecture. It’s like looking at a before and after renovation photo without directions to show you how to get from one to the next. What happens in between? And how can you pull that off too?

The Konveyor community exists to accelerate this journey to Kubernetes. Konveyor is a community of people passionate about helping others modernize and migrate their applications for Kubernetes by building tools to help users rehost, replatform, and refactor their applications to Kubernetes. In this session we will discuss the tools that exist in the community - Crane, Forklift, Tackle, and Move2Kube - along with the communities they intersect with such as a Velero and Restic. Bring your questions about rehosting, replatforming, and refactoring and let’s learn together!

Additional registration is required for this session and will close 24-hours prior to the session start time. Please fill out the RSVP form if you would like to participate. Registrants must also be registered for KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2021 Virtual to attend. A meeting link will be shared with all registered participants prior to the session start time.

Please register HERE. Pre-registration closes May 5, 15:00 AM Central European Standard Time (CEST).

The New Stack Makers Virtual Pancake Breakfast + Podcast: IT, Developer Strategies, and Open Source
It’s pancake time! How do you manage your pancake stack? That’s the question. Well, it has nothing to do with modern applications but those pancakes sure taste good! So what about that app data management? The needs are outpacing the reach of today’s DevSecOps digital transformation plans. Join us for a short stack with The New Stack and the CNCF for this Pancake & Podcast discussion with sponsor Dell Technologies to talk about how DevOps, AppSec and IT teams can best use open source projects and enterprise management tools to enable developers to be free from the overhead of IT demands and keep data secure.

We’ll look at persistent data and the role developers play with IT now that Kubernetes has emerged as the orchestration engine for at-scale architectures and microservices are taking center stage. Bring your questions for a chance to win a custom TNS spatula!
